variety of actions.
Logic In
TAKE NOTE
The CBL170 I/O Interface Cable can be used to make an electrical
connection to external devices. For pinout information, see
Connector Pinouts” on page A-4.
The Logic Input line receives a signal from an external device, which is
usually connected using the included CBL170 I/O Interface cable. The
device connected through the Logic Input can initiate one of the
following actions by an external trigger:
Run/Stop Event
A measurement run or stop can be initiated when the Time History
(831C-ELA) option is installed and enabled on your meter.
Marker
With the Time History (831C-LOG) option installed and enabled for that
measurement, Marker #1 will be initiated for the Recording Time
indicated in the Setup, even if there is no sound recording. If sound
recording is enabled for Marker #1, a sound recording also occurs at
this time.
Logic Out
The Logic Out line transmits a signal to an external device, defining one
of these states:
Run State
When the Logic Out is set to Run State, then the output will be driven
high when the 831C is running and will be driven low when it is
stopped.
Event
First, install and enable the Time History option (831C-ELA) on your
meter. When
Logic Out
is set to
Event
, the output is activated with an
event trigger.
