Navigating Events in Octave Displays
Use the and navigation buttons to move from event to event to the
right or left, respectively.
To change the octave view, press ENTER

to jump your cursor from
the record number to the frequency, then press the or navigation
buttons to highlight different frequencies. Numerical values reflect the
selected frequency.

Your 831C SLM provides 2 ways to calculate an event trigger. The event
trigger using Level Triggering is the static value you set. With dynamic
triggering, the event trigger level adjusts according to the background
noise (and any indicated offset) in each time history period.
The highlighted band is the

for the duration of the
event at that frequency.

band. The numerical
values below display
values for that octave.
