9.2 Function selector, digital inputs and
outputs
Via so-called function selectors, various functions can be assigned to the inputs and
outputs for the drive. In addition, the inputs can be filtered against bounce or inverted.
For more detailed information on the digital and analogue IO, please refer to the
application manual.

9.3 Touch probe function
The touch probe function makes possible an event-controlled or continuous position
measurement. Positive and negative signal edges can be configured on the two "fast"
digital inputs ISD05 and ISD06 as the trigger for a position measurement.
The command "Probing cycle procedure command" (S-0-0170.0.0) is used to activate
the "Measurement with touch probe" function, the parameter S-0-0169.0.0 "Probe
control" for configuration.
Setting and enabling the commands activates the "Measure" function in the drive. The
drive signals this situation by setting the command acknowledge (data status) to "Set,
enabled, but not yet executed". A "Command correctly executed" acknowledgement is
not provided. This means that the command change bit is only set if there is an error.
The measurement is enabled using the "Probe 1/2 enable" signals (S-0-0405.0.0 /
S-0-0406.0.0).
On the occurrence of the selected edge on the touch probe, the drive saves the
position actual value in the related parameters S-0-0130 to S-0-0133 (measured value
1 or 2, positive or negative edge) and sets the related bit in the measured value status
(S-0-0179). The status bits in the measured value status can be addressed separately
via the ident numbers S-0-0409.0.0 to S-0-0412.0.0 and can therefore be assigned to
the real-time status bits for fast measurements, or transmitted as real-time parameters
in the AT.
In principle, two different measuring methods are supported:
y
Single measurement: On the occurrence of an active measuring edge, the
action of the same edge is inhibited. This inhibit is cleared again by resetting
the probe 1/2 enable (S-0-0405.0.0 / S-0-0406.0.0). The measurement is
enabled again by then setting the touch probe 1/2 enable.
y
Continuous measurement: If continuous measurement has been
configured in parameter S-0-0169.0.0, then the actual position is saved
on each occurrence of an active measuring edge. The touch probe is then
immediately enabled again for a further measurement. The continuous
measurement is ended by resetting S-0-0405.0.0 or S-0-0406.0.0 or by
clearing the command S-0-0170.0.0 "Probing cycle procedure command".
