NOTICE!
Exercise special care when imaging patients outside the typical adult size range,
especially smaller pediatric patients. When imaging pediatric patients follow the
ALARA
(As Low As Reasonably Achievable) principle and seek to reduce the radiation dose to the
amount necessary to acquire images that are clinically adequate. This can be achieved
for example through utilizing the pediatric imaging programs and adjusting the imaging
parameters for the patient in question.
