1 Overview of functions

1.3 Electrical system
The control computer is also equipped with 4 serial interfaces (COM ports).
Plug X 1 -> above VEM -> Diagnodent
Plug X 3 -> energy measuring unit
Plug X 6 -> touch screen display
Plug X 7 COM 1-> connection bracket
Rear of KEY Laser -> Service PC
In the control computer, there are also control and driver electronics for controlling
the power electronics such as the laser power supply (capacitor charger), and for
directly switching solenoid valves, the shutter and absorber, etc.
A power supply is integrated in the control computer so that the control computer
can be supplied directly with 230 V AC via the laser power supply.

While servicing, completely exchange the control computer.
1.3.2 Software /start-up process
Software
The KEY Laser software consists of the following files:
Files 1 – 10 are generally subject to software updates.

1 Boot.exe Checks control.exe file and starts the Zmodem
reception in the event of errors.
2 Control.exe User mode software.
3 Service.exe Service software.
4 Ztrans.exe Zmodem transfer program to send and receive
files via the external service interface (COM 1).
ATTENTION:
It is not possible to send or receive software if this
file is missing or corrupted. In this event, the con‐
trol unit should be replaced during servicing.
5 Default.dat Contains the default data for the drive value table
and measured value table and parameters.
6 Default.usr Other files necessary for standard initialization
(these are copied into EEPROM).
7 *.stx(gr.stx) Text file containing all texts used on the touch
screen display. There is a separate file for each
language e.g. gr.stx.
8 *.prg(gr.prg) Contains the names and data of the standard
programs. There is a separate file for each lan‐
guage e.g. gr.prg.
9 k3_sde.eep symbols etc. Contains pictures and is transferred in full to the
server at initial setup.
10 Rominit.bat A ROMDOS file which starts after the BIOS has
loaded. Program files are started up one after
another and commands are executed. Equiva‐
lent of autoexec.bat.
