BEAD BREAKING
When this Subprogram is running, the data required for
the successive work cycles is acquired automatically
by the sensors fi tted on the Bead Breaker Arms and
using a Laser detector. The data acquired includes the
positions of the upper and lower rim edge, which are
indispensable for performing the required operations.
During upper or lower bead breaking operations, you
can release the lever (
2, Fig.4.1-2
) and continue the
rotation procedure using the pedal (
3, Fig.4.1-3
).
The bead breaking disk is not allowed to move so the
operator can lubricate the entire circumference freely
to increase the effi ciency of the operation.
In the same way the rotation pedal can be released
at any time and bead breaking can be resumed using
the lever (
2, Fig.4.1-2
).
When the machine is performing the lower bead
breaking operation it also acquires the rim width data.
The Bead breaking Subprogram is completed by a
laser scan of the upper rim fl ange.
REMOVING THE UPPER BEAD
Having completed the bead breaking operations,
keep the lever (
2, Fig.4.1-2
) activated to move the
bead breaking disks into the idle position. The Upper
Bead Removal operation continues automatically with
the upper tool being moved up until it grips onto the
upper bead.
If the bead slips back into its housing on the rim it
should be pressed back into the groove using the
bead pusher.
This phase is completed by a temporary stop (signalled
by a beep) in which the operator is requested to inspect
that everything is correct before proceeding.
WARNING
:
IF THE BEAD IS POSITIONED CORRECTLY IN THE
RIM DEAD CENTER, WORK CAN PROCEED.
The Subprogram continues by extracting the upper
bead and finishes when the tools are positioned
correctly for extracting the lower bead.
The operation is now fi nished and the automated cycle
can proceed directly to the next Subprogram.
