Hydrostatic Pump Endcaps
Dismantling and Assembly
The numerical sequence shown on the illustration is intended
as a guide to dismantling.
For assembly the sequence should be reversed.
Each endcap

is secured to its pump by four capscrews

. Before dismantling, matchmark each endcap to its pump.
Note that 'O' rings

and

are only fitted to the rear pump
endcap

. Locating dowels

need only be removed if
damaged.
Note that shims

should be retained as a set. On
reassembly, use new 'O' rings and bearings.
Torque tighten bolts

to 47 - 61 Nm (4.8 - 6.2 kgf m, 35 - 45
lbf ft).
Torque tighten plug

to 54 - 135 Nm (40 - 100 lbf ft, 5.5 -
14 kgf m).
Charge Pressure checking and adjustment
If the charge pressure relief valve has been dismantled it will
require setting up as follows:

Install a 0 - 35 bar (0 - 500 lb/in
2
, 0 - 35 kg/cm
2
) pressure
gauge in the pressure test point under the hydraulic filter.

Start the engine and warm the hydraulic oil to its normal
operating temperature.

Ensure the pressure reducing solenoid is energised by
closing the door and moving the safety restraint to the
operating position. If this is not done the pressure cannot
be set correctly.

Run the engine at maximum revs. and check the
pressure at the gauge which should be as quoted in
Technical Data
.

If the pressure is not correct, slacken locknut

and
adjust screw

quarter of a turn at a time, clockwise to
increase pressure, anti-clockwise to decrease.
