adjust the right hand pedal as in pro-
cedures 3 and 4 above. Check that the
pedal latch engages.
6. Road test the tractor, and check the
brakes for binding or pulling to one
side. Any tendency to pull to one side
should be counteracted by slacken-
ing off the adjuster nut on the side to
which the tractor pulls.
7. Finally, with the parking brake re-
leased, take up any slack in the brake
cable by turning the adjuster nuts (2)
Transmission and hydraulics
Dipstick (Fig. 39 and 40)
Check the transmission and hy-
draulic oil every 100 hours.
There are two types of dipstick fitted
to the tractors, side cover type (Fig. 39)
and remote type (Fig. 40). The side cover
type is only fitted to tractors without a
spacer or four wheel drive transfer box
between the gearbox and rear axle.
The oil level must be maintained be-
tween the MAXIMUM and MINIMUM marks
on the dipstick for normal use. When us-
ing auxiliary hydraulics with implements
which require a large quantity of oil or
when working on hillsides or sloping land,
fill the transmission to the MAXIMUM mark
on the dipstick.
Fig. 39:
The marks on the dpstick are as fol-
lows:
‘A’ Minimum mark. Do not allow the
level to fail below this mark.
‘B’ Normal operating level.
‘C’ Maximum mark. Fill to this level
mark when using auxiliary hydraulics, im-
plements which require a large quantity of
oil or in hilly conditions.
Fig. 40:
Transmission/hydraulic oil (Figs.
41 to 42)
Change the transmission/hydraulic
oil every 1000 hours.
1. Place a suitable container beneath each
drain plug.
2. Remove the two drain plugs (Fig. 41).
3. Remove the two drain plugs (1 Fig. 46)
from the rear epicyclic hubs.
4. Place the hydraulic control levers in
the fully DOWN position.
5. Remove, clean and refit the oil strain-
er. (See Fig. 43).
