ly uncouple and seal, preventing any loss
of oil. After disconnecting, put protective
covers on all hose connectors to prevent
dirt getting in.
Note
If the implement accidentally be-
comes disconnected from the tractor
the hoses will automatically uncouple,
preventing damage to the hoses.
Auxiliary hydraulic control
valve levers (Operation)
Hydraulic control valve, spring loaded
levers Control valve levers that are spring
loaded automatically return to the neutral
position after each operation.
Single acting rams
To operate single acting rams, screw
the control spindle (2, Fig. 12) fully out,
and use only the coupler marked (1) or (3).
To extend the ram, pull the lever back. To
retract the ram, push the lever forward.
Ensure that the implement hoses are
correctly connected to the tractor cou-
plers. Refer to the appropriate implement
Operator Instruction Book.
Double acting rams
To operate double acting rams, screw
the control spindle (2, Fig. 12) fully in, and
attach the hose from the side of the ram
which causes it to extend, to the coupler
marked (1) or (3), and the return hose to
the coupler marked (2) or (4).
To extend the ram, pull the lever back.
To retract the ram, push the lever for-
wards.
Hydraulic motors
Although the standard valve section is
not specifically designed for use with hy-
draulic motors, these valves can be used
satisfactorily, if the following points are
observed.
1. A detent kit must fitted.
2. Always connect the motor feed to the
coupler (1) or (3).
3. NEVER connect the motor return to the
quick release couplers. On tractors with
auxiliary hydraulics connect the return
hose directly to the return port which
is a ‘T’ piece male union (7/8-14 x 37°
JIC for 5/8 in. tube or hose, male) on
the left hand transmission side cover.
4. Always contact ITMCO Dealer when fit-
ting a hydraulic motor to ensure that
the hydraulic circuit is completely sat-
isfactory.
Note
An additional (third) spool block and
control levers is available in standard
form or especially designed for use with
hydraulic motors. For details of this and
other specialised spool valves (detent
spools and detent conversion kits) see
ITMCO Dealer.
