of the correct grade. The quantity of oil
required to raise the level from minimum
to maximum is 1.8 litre.
The oil level must be maintained be-
tween the ‘MIN’ and the ‘MAX’ marks on
the dipstick (3).
Changing the engine oil (Fig. 18)
Change the engine oil every 250
hours
Fig. 18: Engine drain plug
1. With the tractor standing on level
ground, place a drain pan beneath the
engine sump, then remove the engine
drain plug (Fig. 18).
2. Allow the oil to drain out completely.
3. Refit the drain plug and tighten se-
curely.
4. Refill the sump with an approved oil,
so that the level is between the ‘MIN’
and ‘MAX’ marks on the dip stick.
Note
Time must be allowed for the oil to
settle in the sump before rechecking the
level.
5. Change the engine oil filter.
Engine oil filter (Fig. 19)
Change the engine oil filter every
250 hours.
1. Put a drain pan under the filter to retain
spilt oil.
2. Remove the filter canister (1) with a
strap wrench or similar tool. Ensure
that the adaptor (4) is secure in the
filter head. Then discard the canister.
3. Clean the filter head (3).
4. Smear a few drops of engine oil on the
sealing ring (2).
5. Fit the new canister and tighten by
hand only. DO NOT use a strap wrench.
6. To fill the oil filter with oil, ensure
that there is oil in the sump. Turn the
engine over with the starter motor and
the stop control out until the oil pres-
sure warning light goes out.
7. Run the engine and check for leakage.
Recheck the oil level and top up, if
necessary.
