min. The central position ‘N’ is neutral.
To engage the independent PTO move
the control lever (2 Fig. 6) forward to po-
sition ‘A’. To disengage move the lever
back to the neutral position ‘N’.
To change the PTO shaft to obtain the
correct spline, follow the procedure on
page 3-08 figure 9.
Caution
In order to protect the IPTO clutch,
PTO drive and implement drive, do not
engage the clutch at engine speeds over
1600 rev/min. Ensure that the IPTO is
either fully engaged, or fully disengaged.
Partial engagement, or slow engagement
can cause damage to internal compo-
nents.

to 10)
Warning
Before operating any of the controls
ensure that all pedestrians are clear of
the tractor and its implements.
Note
The controls illustrated are those for
footstep tractors, these are illustrated
for convenience, the cab controls being
identical in position and operation.
The ITMCO hydraulic system combines
the tractor and implement into one unit
with the implement hydraulically con-
trolled. This system provides these five
functions:
1. Draft control, (3 Fig. 7) is used to con-
trol the working depth of soil engaging
implements.
2. Position control, (2 Fig. 7) is used to
control the working height of imple-
ments above the ground.
3. Response control. (1 Fig. 7) is used to
control the speed of drop of the lower
links and the attached implement.
4. Auxiliary hydraulics are used for the
control of external equipment that
require hydraulic power for their op-
eration, such as trailer tipping, loader
operation, hydraulic motor drive, etc.

5. Selector control, (4 Fig. 7) this control
selects and diverts the flow of hydrau-
lic oil from the linkage pump to either
the internal lift system (position B) or
the auxiliary hydraulic control valves
(position A). It also combines the link-
age pump and the auxiliary pump to
give increased flow for external equip-
ment.
