4. Completely evacuate the tyre.
5. Re-inflate the tyre to the recommend-
ed pressure.
NOTE
The valve should be at the lowest
point when checking or adjusting air
pressure if the tyre is liquid ballasted.
Water/ calcium chloride solution
• This table is provided for convenience in
estimating the additional weight gained
by the use of liquid weighting.
• All mixtures are based on a 75% fill
in order to retain 25% air volume for
cushioning purposes.
• Water/calcium chloride solutions are
indicated from no protection against
freezing at all down to a temperature
of minus 35°C.
ELECTRICAL EQUIPMENT
To avoid damage to the components of
the alternator charging system, the follow-
ing service precautions must be observed:
• NEVER make or break any of the charg
-
ing circuit connections, including the
battery when the engine is running.
• NEVER short any of the charging com
-
ponents to earth.
• ALWAYS disconnect the battery earth
cable before carrying out arc welding
on the tractor.
• ALWAYS disconnect the battery earth
cable when charging the battery in the
tractor.
• DO NOT use a slave battery of higher
than 12 volt nominal voltage.
• ALWAYS observe correct polarity when
installing the battery or using a slave
battery to start the engine.
• ALWAYS connect the negative earth
cable first.

WHEEL NUT TIGHTNESS
Check the wheel nut tightness eve-
ry 250 hours.
If any of the wheels have been re-
moved, or you are checking the tightness,
the wheel nut tightening torques are as
follows:
Front - two-wheel drive:
Wheel screws
- 108 Nm (80 lbf ft)
Wheel nuts
- 95 Nm (70 lbf ft)
Front - four-wheel drive:
Disc to axle hub - 270 Nm (200 lbf ft)
Rear - wheel:
Disc to Axle Hub - 270 Nm (200 lbf ft)
Rim to Disc
- 240 Nm (177 lbf ft)
IMPORTANT
Recheck the torques after 10 hours (or
2 hours if on loader work) and then re-
check and if necessary, re-tighten twice
more at ten-hourly intervals. This pro-
tects against the loosening that occurs
from the wheel settling down.
