Foot throttle (3 Fig. 4)
WARNING
When operating by foot throttle only,
the hand throttle MUST be fully closed.
Operation of the foot throttle overrides
the hand throttle setting when increasing
engine speed. When the foot throttle is re-
leased the engine will return to the speed
set by the hand throttle. See Operation
Section (Page 39).
Differential lock pedal (2 Fig. 8)

pedal.

The differential lock (2 Fig. 8) me-
chanically locks the rear axle shafts to-
gether so that both wheels pull together.
This is an especially important aid when
operating in muddy conditions as it pro-
vides increased traction and prevents
needless tyre wear. See Operation Section
(page 41).
Response control (1 Fig. 8)
This lever (1 Fig. 8) controls the rate at
which the lower links drop. See Operation
Section (page 41).
Control lever — Four—wheel drive (10
Fig. 4)
This lever engages the four-wheel drive
when pushed ‘DOWN’. See Operation Sec-
tion (page 41).
PTO lever (11 Fig. 4)
To engage the live PTO depress the
clutch pedal fully and move the lever back-
wards. To disengage the drive, depress the
clutch pedal fully and move the lever to the
central, neutral position. See Fig. 4 and Op-
eration Section (page 42).
NOTE
Tractors are fitted with a safety start
switch that operates in conjunction with
the PTO lever. The PTO lever must be
placed in the central (Neutral) position
to engage the safety start switch before
the engine can be started.
Parking brake lever (12 Fig. 4)
The parking brake acts on the trac-
tor rear wheels. To engage the brake,
press the footbrake pedals down and pull
the hand lever up. To release the parking
brake, press the footbrake pedals down
then press the button on the end of the
lever and push the lever down.
Clutch pedal (13 Fig. 4)
The clutch pedal travels through two
stages. The initial movement - the extent
of which is made apparent by a distinct
increase in pedal pressure - disengages
the transmission drive. Additional down-
ward movement disconnects the drive to
the PTO shaft.
