Configuring the Serial Interface
The INSYS WLAN serial 2.1 communicates via an RS232 interface for configuration and
data transfer. The transmission rate and data format of this interface can be adjusted to
the requirements of your application.
If the INSYS WLAN serial 2.1 is connected to a PC, you can configure the INSYS WLAN se-
rial 2.1 or transfer data to the PC via the serial interface. If a network connection is estab-
lished, the INSYS WLAN serial 2.1 is in data connection mode and does not accept com-
mands at the serial interface. All data coming in on the serial interface will be transferred
to the network. If the INSYS WLAN serial 2.1 detects the Escape sequence "
+++
" in the
incoming data stream at the serial interface with a following pause of one second with-
out any data transfer, it will change into configuration mode and close the existing net-
work connection. The configuration mode will be terminated, if the INSYS WLAN serial
2.1 establishes or accepts a network connection.
A baud rate of 19200 and the data format 8N1 are set by default.
Configuration with HSComm
You can configure the serial interface on the "Basic settings" tab in the "Serial
Interface" panel ( Figure 6, page 44, position 1).
Configuration with AT commands
In order to
set the baud rate
, use the com-

between 300 bps and 115,200 bps.
AT+IPR=<baudrate>
In order to
set the data format
, use the com-
mand
Enter instead of
<n>
the number of the for-
mat, e.g. 0 for 8N1, 1 for 7E1. Refer to the AT
