CORD
INSPECTION
AND
TEST
Inspect and test the AC power cord at least once every 12 months.
The recommended tool for this procedure is a #2 Phillips screwdriver.
To inspect the AC power cord, see
, and proceed as follows:
1. Turn off the infuser and disconnect the device from AC power.
2. Using the Phillips screwdriver, remove the screw that secures the battery door,
and remove the door and door pad.
3. Disconnect the power cord from the infuser’s AC power receptacle.
4. Inspect the receptacle for missing screws, and replace, as required.
5. Verify the power cord cable is free from cracks, fraying, and/or torn insulation.
If any damage is observed, replace the power cord
.
6. Inspect both ends of the power cord for any signs of electrical arcing, burn marks,
or heat scorching or melting. If any damage is observed, replace the power cord.
7. Inspect the plug end of the power cord for bent blades or a loose or missing ground
pin. If any damage is observed, replace the power cord.
8. Inspect the power cord retaining strap for damage. If any damage is observed,
replace the strap.
9. When inspections are completed, plug the power cord into the AC power receptacle
and reinstall the battery door and door pad
.
10. Connect the infuser to AC power and confirm the AC indicator is lit.
To test the AC power cord, perform the
Electrical Safety Test
in the
PVT
.
