Chapter 7. DR550 Expansion Drawer
This section provides information about the DR550 Expansion Drawer, such as
explanations of controls and indicator lights. It contains information to help you
solve some of the problems you might have with your storage expansion
enclosure. Table 7 on page 44 contains the problem symptoms and error messages,
along with suggested problem resolution actions.
IBM Director provides status indications and error reporting for the DR550 Storage
Controller and expansion drawers. You can use IBM Director, in conjunction with
the DS4000 Storage Manager for DR550 client, to diagnose storage subsystem
problems and component failures, and to find solutions to problems that have
definite symptoms.
Symptom-to-FRU index
In addition to the DS4000 Storage Manager for DR550 Storage Controller Storage
Manager Recovery Guru in the Subsystem Management window, you can use the
symptom-to-FRU index in Table 9 on page 52. The index contains the problem
symptoms and error messages, along with suggested troubleshooting actions. Do
not depend solely on the index for FRU replacement decisions.
