Appendix C. DS4000 Logical Volume configuration
On the DR550, LUNs are configured based on the total storage capacity ordered.
All disk capacity is allocated for use by System Storage Archive Manager. No disk
capacity is set aside for other applications or servers. Below are the approximate
LUN configurations set at the factory. The LUN ID column shows the LUN ID as
seen from DS4000 Storage Manager. If you view the LUN ID from AIX, it will be
displayed as a hexadecimal address.
For compliance reasons the LUN configuration should never be changed (volume
sizes for tsmstglv can be changed) unless it has been approved by the DR550
development and support teams.
Notes:
1. The logical volumes used for the SSAM storage pool are named tsmstglvx and
are 1 TB in size. These logical volumes may span the physical volumes
(TSMStgxx) listed below.
2. The LUN sizes listed in the below tables are raw sizes and AIX overhead can
take up to 10% of the DR550 Storage Controller capacity.
