Turn
off
the
server
and
peripheral
devices
and
disconnect
all
power
cords
and
external
cables;
then,
remove
the
cover.

Remove

riser-card
assembly
and
the
air
baffle
over
the
DIMMs.

4.
Locate
the
ServeRAID
SAS
controller
on
the
system
board.
5.
Disconnect
the
battery
from
the
controller;
then,
lift
the
battery
out
of
the
battery-mounting
clips
on
the
server
wall
and
remove
the
battery
from
the
server.
6.
Reinstall
the
battery
in
the
reverse
order.
7.
Replace
the
air
baffle
over
the
DIMMs.

Replace
the
riser-card
assembly.
9.
Install
the
cover.

Slide
the
server
into
the
rack.
11.
Reconnect
the
external
cables;
then,
reconnect
the
power
cords
and
turn
on
the
peripheral
devices
and
the
server.
Note:
When
you
restart
the
server,
you
will
be
given
the
opportunity
to
import
the
existing
RAID
configuration
to
the
new
ServeRAID
SAS
controller.
Removing
the
system
board
battery
The
following
notes
describe
information
that
you
must
consider
when
replacing
the
battery:

this
product
with
your
safety
in
mind.
The
lithium
battery
must
be
handled
correctly
to
avoid
possible
danger.
If
you
replace
the
battery,
you
must
adhere
to
the
following
instructions.

you
replace
the
original
lithium
battery
with
a
heavy-metal
battery
or
a
battery
with
heavy-metal
components,
be
aware
of
the
following
environmental
consideration.
Batteries
and
accumulators
that
contain
heavy
metals
must
not
be
disposed
of
with
normal
domestic
waste.
They
will
be
taken
back
free
of
charge
by
the
manufacturer,
distributor,
or
representative,
to
be
recycled
or
disposed
of
in
a
proper
manner.
