Exchange a Battery
Important
The battery exchange procedure is documented with the illustrations of ACDC type B, but the
procedure is identical for ACDC types A and B.
The differences between ACDC types A and B are shown in “Identify the ACDC Power Type” on
page 6-19.

Warning
Before working on a battery read carefully
the safety statements. Go to “General and
Product Safety” on page xvii to select
safety statements in your language.
Locate the ACDC on which you want to
exchange the battery using “2220 Front
View in 37 U Rack” on page 6-15.
At the rear of the machine, on the ACDC
selected, switch the main CB OFF.

At the front of the machine, remove the
four screws

and the grid.

Disconnect the cable from the battery.
Remove the three screws

that secure
the battery to the ACDC.
Using the handle, slide the battery out of
the ACDC.
