a. In the Nways Switch Services window, double click on the Nways Switch Resource Control
(Local) icon (using the left or bottom mouse button).
b. In the Nways Switch Resource Control window, click on View, Expanded Tree View option.
3. Locate the Clock icon, then double click on it (using the left or bottom mouse button).
4. The CMIP Status window is displayed.
Is Providing Services status highlighted?
Yes
Continue with the Step 5 .
No
Continue with the Step 10 .
5. Click on Close
6. On the simplex machine the voice or continous bit rate (CBR) traffic will be degraded. Prior
continuing this procedure contact the network operator and inform him (her) of your action and wait
for his (her) agreement.
7. If an external clock device is connected, set the external clock device to the appropriate status
(device dependent).
8. On the Clock icon, click on the left or bottom mouse button then on the right or top mouse button. A
popup menu is displayed.
9. Click on the Deactivate option, and wait for "deactivation complete" message, then continue with
Step 10 . If the "deactivation complete" message does not appears continue with Step 10
10. Go to “Exchange a Clock” on page 6-43, to replace the Clock module, then return here to continue
the procedure with Step 11 .
11. Wait until the Clock icon comes green (up to seven minutes).
12. Double click on the Clock icon (using the left or bottom mouse button).
13. The CMIP Status window is displayed.
Is Providing Services status highlighted?
Yes
Continue with the Step 14.
No
You have a problem. Call the Network Support Center to inform them and follow their
instruction. The Appendix B, “Maintenance Aids” on page B-1 can help you to describe
your symptom to the Network Support Center.
14. If an external clock device is connected, set the external clock device to the appropriate status
(device-dependent).
15. Inform the network operator, ask him to check on Netview that the synchronization is complete
(synchronization can take up to 15 minutes and possibly some time for software upgrade).
16. Go to “Ending the Exchange Procedure” on page 6-75.
