– You have two switch or Switch redrive modules installed on your machine and the module that you
want to exchange is active and Providing Services
1. You should be logged ON to the Nways Switch administration station. If not, go to “How to Start on
the Local 2220” on page 3-1, and return here.
2. If the Switch icon or the Switch redrive icon is displayed on your screen go to Step 3 . Otherwise
continue with Step 2a .
a. In the Nways Switch Services window, double click on the Nways Switch Resource Control
(Local) icon (using the left or bottom mouse button).
b. In the Nways Switch Resource Control window, click on View, Expanded Tree View option.
3. If you want exchange a Switch, locate its icon. If you want exchange a Switch redrive locate the
associated Switch, then double click on it (using the left or bottom mouse button).
4. The CMIP Status window is displayed.
Is Providing Services status highlighted?
Yes Click on Close Continue with the Step 5 .
No Click on Close Continue with the Step 7 .
5. Always on the same Switch icon, click on the left or bottom mouse button, then on the right or top
mouse button. A popup menu is displayed.
6. Click on the Switchover option, and wait for action message saying you that the switchover is
complete. Click on the OK button, then continue with Step 7 . If the message does not appear in
less than one minute, continue with Step 7
7. Always on the same Switch icon, click on the left or bottom mouse button, then on the right or top
mouse button. A popup menu is displayed.
8. Click on the Set Switchover Options. On the displayed window, set the Inhibit option then click on
the OK button, then continue with Step 9 .
9. Go to “Exchange a Switch or Switch Redrive” on page 6-69, to replace the Switch or the Switch
redrive module.
