How to Run the Line Loopback Test

Important

Only the followings LICs have the capability to redirect received signals
onto transmit signals (loops): LIC
513/523/514/515/516/517/544/545/546/551/552/553/554/555/556.

If you remote equipment is not an IBM 2220, set the line on this equipment in
loop and go directly to the Step 4 on page 4-19

Note

The following procedure is an example of how to run the Line Loopback Test.
Depending of the link tested the content of the windows displayed may be
different on your screen.

1. Identify the Front-end node:

Node name

IP address

IPR address

Get the PSN number for the front-end node.

2. Open a remote FEUI session to operate on the front-end node from the local

NAS using the following procedure.

When the Nways Switch administrations station is powered ON and initialized
the Nways Switch Desktop window is displayed.

a. Double click on the Nways Switch Services icon.

b. In the Nways Switch Services window, double click on the Nways Switch

Resource Control (Remote) icon.
