Exchange a Board
Important
The board exchange procedure is documented with the illustrations of ACDC type B, DC48 type B, but
the procedure is identical for ACDC types A and B and for DC48 types A and B.
The differences between types A and B are shown in the following sections:
“Identify the ACDC Power Type” on page 6-19.
“Identify the DC48 Power Type” on page 6-20.
Important
For exchanging a board you need the complete machine. Prior starting this procedure contact the
network operator and inform him (her) of your action and wait for his (her) agreement.

Locate the areas of the machine using
“2220 Rear View in 37 U Rack” on
page 6-16.
At the rear of the machine, switch the main
CBs OFF on both ACDC and DC48 power
supplies.

On the front of the machine, record
carefully on each front module its position
in the machine.
Remove all the modules:
– For each module, loosen the screws
on the latches.
– Unlock the latches as shown, then
remove the module from its location.

At the rear of the machine, loosen the
screws
