NOTE: If the network operator allows it, Emergency calls can be placed at any time, without requiring a
PIN. If your PIN is en tered incorrectly three times, the SIM card will be blocked. If this happens, you can
unblock it with the PUK (PIN Unblocking Key) obtained from your wireless service provider. A maximum of
10 attempts at entering the PUK is allowed, after which you would have to contact the service provider for
a replacement SIM card
Protect your device with a password
You can help keep your data more secure by requiring a password every time the device is
turned on.
1. Tap Start > Settings > Personal tab > Lock.
2. Select the Prompt if device unused for check box. In the box to the right, select how long your device must be
turned off before a password is needed. In the Password type box, select the type of password you want to use.
Enter the password and, if necessary, con

rm it. If the device is con
fi
gured for network connection, use a strong
password for better network security.
3. On the Hint tab, enter a phrase that will help you remember your password but does not allow others to guess it.
The hint will be displayed after the wrong password is entered four times.
4. Tap OK. The next time the device is turned on you will be prompted to enter your password.
NOTE: Each time a wrong password is entered, the time the device takes to respond will get deliberately
longer and longer until the device appears to be not responding. If you forget your password, you must
follow the procedure to perform a hard reset (clean boot) as described in Chapter 8 which will clear all
personal data from memory.

1. Tap Start > Settings > Personal tab > Lock. You will be prompted to enter your current password. Then tap Unlock.
2. In the Password boxes, enter and con

rm your new password.
3. On the Hint tab, enter a phrase that will help you remember your new password but does not allow others to guess
your password. The hint will be displayed after the wrong password is entered four times.
4. Tap OK.
STREAMING PLAYER
The Streaming Player supports multimedia video streaming through Real Time Streaming
Protocol (RTSP) and HTTP progressive downloads. This application complements the
capabilities of Windows Media player.
The Streaming Player will launch automatically if you tap on a RTSP link within Internet
Explorer. It will stream MPEG-4 (.mp4 and .3gp) multimedia
fi
les, supporting video codecs
H.263 and H.264 Advanced Video Coding.
To Start the player
If you want to play a stream from a web page, just click on the link in the page.

Tap Start > Programs > Streaming Player if you wish to open the player manually. Click Open or click on the Menu
and select Open.
