- Discharge the capacitor with a 12 V test lamp, as shown in

the figure.

As the capacitor charge decreases, the test lamp

becomes dimmer.

» The bulb lights up for: 0.5 ... 2.0 s

The capacitor is OK.

» The bulb lights up for: < 0.5 s

Change the capacitor.

» The bulb lights up for: > 2.0 s

Change the capacitor.

- Install the capacitor.
