Conduct the same operations for the two expansion tanks in the Cooling Container.
With the chiller water pumps shut down, only air accumulated in the expansion tanks can
be expelled after the preceding steps are conducted.
----End
4.5.7.2 Expelling Air from the LCU
Prerequisites
The auxiliary water refill devices keep filling secondary refrigerant to the system.
Preparations
Tools: rubber gloves, vessel
Documents: pipe system diagram, pipe valve control relationship table, cooling device layout
diagram
Skill requirement: cooling engineer
For the diagrams and tables, see the initial configuration parameter manual for the solution in use.
Context
As the manual exhaust valve pipe of an LCU is connected to the LCU condensate water pan,
when you expel air from the LCU, some secondary refrigerant flows directly to the LCU
condensate water pan and then flows out of the container from the corresponding condensate
drainpipe.
As the glycol solution is toxic, avoid skin contact with the glycol solution and take
measures to prevent it from splashing into your eyes during injection and operation.
Prepare a vessel to collect the glycol solution flowing out from the condensate drainpipes
of the Power Container and Equipment Container, and dispose of the glycol solution
collected in accordance with local laws.
Procedure
Step 1
Open the rear sealing panel of the LCU using a key.
Step 2
Slowly open the LCU manual exhaust valve to expel air from the LCU.
