To edit a user

At the computer, click
Start

All Programs
,
HP Media Vault
, and
then
Control Center
.

On the
Tools
tab, click
Customize HP Media Vault
.
You are prompted for an administrator name and password if you set one
up. For additional information, see
Editing System Settings on page 2-26
.

On the
Users
tab, locate the user you want to modify.

Click
Edit
.

The
User Name
cannot be edited.
To change a user’s name, delete the current user and create a new one.

Type and confirm the
Password
.
The user uses this password whenever they access private shared folders
or the Photo Webshare on the Media Vault.

Check
Photo Webshare Manager
to give the user the ability to
manage webshare visitors and approve photos submitted by users.

Select the
Folder Access
level for each private shared folder.
User’s do not have access to new or existing folders by default.
Full Access
- The user can open, change, create, and delete files and
sub-folders.
Read Only
- The user can open files or folders but they cannot
create, rename, change, or delete them.
None
- The user cannot see the folder or access it in any way.

Changing a User’s Folder Privileges
User’s have access privileges for each private shared folder on your HP
Media Vault. Initially, users do not have access to existing shared folders or
any new folders you create. You must grant folder permissions to users before
they can see the folder or its contents.
