Backing up the HP Media Vault to a USB Device
Creating backups of your files ensures you have a copy that can be restored
to your HP Media Vault if you experience accidental deletions or mechanical
failures.
To back up shared folders

Plug a USB device into the HP Media Vault.

At the computer, click
Start
,
All Programs
,
HP Media Vault
, and
then
Control Center
.

On the
Backup
tab, click
Backup HP Media Vault
.
You are prompted for an administrator name and password if you set one
up. For additional information, see
Editing System Settings on page 2-26
.

Check the
Shared Folder Names
to back up.
The following default shared folders are listed. If you created others, they
are also listed. As you check folders, their total space required for backup
is calculated.
Backup
Location of files backed up by PC Backup software.
Documents
The pre-configured folder that you can use for documents, graphics,
and other personal files.
Music
The pre-configured folder that you can use for audio files, such as
those you download from the Internet or save on your hard drive.
Photos
The pre-configured folder that you can use for photographs. Many
digital-camera and photo-editing software programs automatically
create a sub-folder in this folder to which they save their pictures.
