Tape jammed in drive
First check :
Check whether there is actually a tape in the drive
Check power connected. Check fuse. Check power cord.
Will the tape eject with a force eject? (hold down the eject button >10
seconds)
Then do this :
Ensure power to the drive (check plugged in and switched on, change power
cable).
Power cycle
the drive.
If another drive is available to swap in, try this to confirm drive or power
problem.
Push the unload button and if the tape doesn't eject hold the unload button for
approximately 10 seconds to force eject. If this fails turn the power off and on
again.
Power cycle
the drive
If the tape is eventually ejected, discard the old tape and restart the operation
with a different tape.
Only use new, recommended media.
