Remove the current cassette and insert the next one in the backup sequence.
Other Issues
The tape drive's amber light stays on.
For DLT products the LED labeled "Use Cleaning Tape" communicates an error
condition after a failed self-test. By staying steady amber, it means that a cleaning
cartridge is required. When it blinks amber, this indicates that there is possible
damage to the tape, and it should be ejected.

First check:
That the drive's own self test has passed (>20 seconds).
Both LEDs (lights) continue to flash until the self test completes successfully.
Then do this:
Turn the tape drive off and then on again. If the problem persists, call for
service
. If your drive is an Autoloader, also make a note of the error message
on the front panel.
If the drive reset was not successful then call for
service
.
Cleaned drive, but the cleaning light
comes back on
First check:
Check cleaning cartridge is OK and not
expired
(<50 uses)
Check if media problem. (Media stored badly may contaminate the heads
with debris)
Check the
environmental conditions
of use, storage and transportation of the
drive & the media
Then do this:
Clean the drive.
