Static disk icon
The appliance is not currently accessing the hard disk. This is only a problem if the
appliance should be reading or writing, e.g. during boot up, while backing up or
whilst restoring data. If the unit has been physically examined, it may not have been
properly reconnected. If the icon never blinks, then
contact HP
.
No network icon present.
This indicates that the physical connection to the network has not been present since
the appliance booted up. If the connection has been broken since the appliance
booted up, then the network icon would be present, but it would not be active.
Examine
the connection between the appliance and the network. Plug in the cable if
it has accidentally removed. The amber LED next to the
RJ45 network connection
indicates connection to the physical network. Otherwise, try using a known good
cable. If this fails to provide a solution,

If the icon is not blinking, then the appliance could be idle. This is not a failure state,
unless the appliance should be doing something. If other computers are unable to
connect to the appliance, then check that the connection to the network is in place.
Also check the connecting cable is good, by replacing it with a known good cable.
If the network icon is blinking and the administrators browser is unable to connect,
there is a problem with the PC that you are using to browse the appliance. If the
appliance can be browsed with no problems from another computer, then this is a
problem with the computer you are using to browse the Administrator's console, not
the appliance. The browser may be configured incorrectly. (See

The appliance keeps rebooting itself.
The appliance contains OS self correction software. If the primary OS gets corrupted,
the machine cannot boot up. In this case the appliance reboots itself and tries again.
If this fails the appliance reboots but switches to the secondary OS which repairs the
primary OS and then switches over to use the repaired OS. If this is not successful,
the LCD shows the error icon, and the lightbar is orange.
The appliances key services are checked after the OS has successfully loaded. If one
