CYLINDER BLOCK/PISTON/

VALVE INSPECTION
COMBUSTION CHAMBER
Check the combustion chamber [1] for damage.
If the combustion chamber is dirty, clean the
combustion chamber (page 3-7).
PISTON SKIRT O.D.
Measure and record the piston O.D. at a point 10 mm
(0.4 in) from the bottom of the skirt and 90° to the piston
pin bore.
If the measurement is less than the service limit,
replace the piston.
CYLINDER SLEEVE I.D.
Measure and record the cylinder sleeve I.D. at three
levels in both the “X” axis (perpendicular to crankshaft)
and the “Y” axis (parallel to crankshaft). Take the
maximum reading to determine cylinder wear.
If the measurement is more than the service limit,
replace the cylinder block.
