ROCKER ARM/CAMSHAFT
HEAD COVER INSTALLATION
Clean the mating surfaces of the head cover and
cylinder block [1] with a degreasing detergent or a clean
shop towel.
Apply a bead
Φ 1.5 – 2.0 mm ( Φ 0.06 – 0.08 in) of liquid
sealant (Threebond
®
1207B or equivalent) to the mating
surface of the cylinder block as shown.
• Assemble the head cover within 3 minutes after
application of the liquid sealant.
• Wait for 20 minutes after assembly. Do not add oil or
start the engine during this period.
ROCKER ARM/PUSH ROD INSPECTION
ROCKER ARM JOURNAL I.D.
Measure the rocker arm journal I.D.
If the measurement is more than the service limit,
replace the rocker arm.
ROCKER ARM ROLLER O.D.
Measure the rocker arm roller O.D.
If the measurement is less than the service limit,
replace the rocker arm roller.

SERVICE LIMIT: 4.050 mm (0.1594 in)
STANDARD: 3.990 – 4.000 mm
