Mounting and demounting.
General precautions
CAUTION:
BEFORE MOUNTING A TIRE ON A RIM ENSURE
THE FOLLOWING RULES ARE OBSERVED:
A
- THE RIM MUST BE CLEAN AND IN GOOD
CONDITION: IF NECESSARY CLEAN IT AFTER
REMOVING ALL WHEEL-WEIGHTS INCLUDING
‘TAPE WEIGHTS’ INSIDE THE RIM.

- THE TIRE MUST BE CLEAN AND DRY, WITH NO
DAMAGE TO THE BEAD AND THE CASING.

- FOR WHEELS FULL OR WATER OR OTHER
LIQUIDS, COMPLETELY REMOVE THE LIQUID
CONTAINED IN THE WHEEL BEFORE PLACING
IT ON THE TIRE CHANGER.

- REPLACE THE RUBBER VALVE STEM WITH A
NEW ONE OR REPLACE THE ‘O’ RING IF THE
VALVE STEM IS MADE OF METAL.

- IF THE TIRE REQUIRES A TUBE, MAKE SURE
THE TUBE IS DRY AND IN GOOD CONDITION.

- LUBRICATION IS NECESSARY FOR CORRECT
MOUNTING OF THE TIRE AND PROPER
CENTERING. USE ONLY AN APPROVED
LUBRICANT FOR TIRES.

- MAKE SURE THE TIRE IS THE CORRECT SIZE
FOR THE RIM.

- THE TOOL LOCKING PIN (
1,FIG.5.0-1
) MUST BE
APPLIED ONLY WHEN USING THE DISC TOOL
ON RIM WHEELS.
