Swing Internal Gear --- every 2000 hours
WARNING: Adding or changing swing internal
gear grease and rotating the upperstructure must
be done by one person. Before you start, clear the
area of all persons.
Each time you leave the cab
•
Lower the bucket to the ground.
•
Stop the engine.
•
Pull the pilot control shut-off lever to the LOCK
position.
•
Use handrails.
1. Park the machine on a level surface.
2. Lower the bucket to the ground.
3. Turn the auto-idle switch off.
IMPORTANT: The turbocharger may be damaged if the
engine is not properly shut down.
4. Run the engine at slow idle speed without load for five
minutes.
5. Press and hold the engine stop switch until stopping
the engine completely. Remove the key from the key
switch.
6. Pull the pilot control shut-off lever to the LOCK
position.
7. Open cover (1) on the right side of the
upper-structure.
8. Remove cover (1) on the underside of the swing gear
housing and thoroughly remove old grease from the
swing gear.
9. Remove cover (2) on the left side of the
upperstructure. In order to add new grease evenly to
the swing gear, swing the upperstructure twelve 30
°
intervals (one full turn) and add grease at each
interval using a putty knife.
Total amount of grease applied should be
approximately 350 liter (92.5 US gal).
