TOWING MACHINE A SHORT DISTANCE
WARNING: Cables, straps, or ropes can break
causing serious injury. Do not tow machine with
damaged chains, frayed cables, slings, straps, or
wire ropes.
Always wear gloves when handling cable, straps
or wire ropes.
When your machine becomes struck but the engine is still
operational, attach wire rope tow lines as illustrated at right,
and slowly tow your machine to firm ground using another
machine.
Be sure to attach the wire ropes around the track frames of
both machines as illustrated.
To prevent the wire ropes from being damaged, place
some protective material between the track frame and the
wire ropes.
IMPORTANT: • Slowly tow, keeping the tow line hori-
zontal and in a straight line with the
tracks.
• When the machine is towed, release
parking brakes by operating the travel
levers.
