L64780 enthält einen 8 Bit Analog-Digital-Umsetzer, der als Alternative zum Analog-Digital-Umsetzer im Tuner-Modul oder zum
externen 10 Bit Analog-Digital-Umsetzer benutzt werden kann. Die damit verbundenen Eingangs-Schnittstellen-Komponenten sind
R870, R871, R872, R873, R874, R875, C846, C847.
L64780 enthält einen internen ‘x3’ PLL-gesteuerten Oszillator, der ein 54,864MHz Signal erzeugt, das mit dem ankommenden
18,288MHz Signal mitläuft. Dieser Taktgeber wird mit den Daten für die Vorwärts-Fehlerkorrektur (FEC) (L64724) versorgt. Die
lokale PLL-Stromversorgung wird durch R861 und C843 gefiltert, und die dazugehörigen PLL-Komponenten sind R862, C844 und
C845.
Der Chip enthält einen JTAG Test-Anschluss, der zum Stecker PL800 gebracht wird, mit den Anschnitt-Komponenten R839, R840,
R849, R850, C839, um die richtigen Bedingungen an diesen Stiften aufrechtzuerhalten.
Das digitale Signal wird zum FFT Abschnitt des integrierten Schaltkreises des L64780 COFDM Decoders gespeist. Dieser leitet die
Pilotton-Signale ab, die zusammen mit der vom MPEG CPU programmierten Information benutzt werden können, mit Hilfe eines
FFT Algorithmus die ankommenden Daten in eine Reihe von I/Q phasenverschobenen Signalen zu dekodieren. Jedes hat eine 3 Bit
Auflösung und liefert die Signale für die FEC. Der integrierte Schaltkreis liefert auch Information über die Signal-Qualität, die von
den Chip-Registern durch den I2C Bus in einer Form zurückgelesen wird, die in den Menüs für die Leser und für Wartung und
Prüfung eingesetzt werden soll.
54MHZ TAKTGEBER-PUFFER-STUFE
Dies wird nur benötigt, wenn L64780 Version A Chips benutzt werden, ihre Funktion ist es, den 54MHz Taktgeber-Ansteuerungs-
Pegel zu FEC zu korrigieren.
Wenn L64780 Version B (und später) Chips benutzt werden, wird diese Stufe mit R846
umgangen
. Die Stufe besteht aus IC817, C775, C776, R820 mit vollautomatischer Gitterspannung, mit Vorkehrung für
Eingangssteuerstrom wie R793, R794.
FEC INTEGRIERTER SCHALTKREIS (IC802 / L64724)
Der integrierte Schaltkreis für FEC wird im seriellen Steuerungs-Betrieb benutzt, wobei die Kommunikation durch den I2C Bus vom
MPEG CPU erzeugt wird. Der Daten-Anschluss wird für I2C Taktgeber- und Daten-Leitungen benutzt und um die Einheiten-Adresse
einzustellen, die während der Initialisierung eingestellt wird, in diesem Fall wird der serielle Steuerungs-Betrieb ausgewählt, indem
der ‘HOSTMODE’ Stift tief gesetzt wird. R891, R892 sind die I2C Reihen-Schutz-Widerstände, und C777, C778 werden
hinzugefügt, um die Steuerung des I2C Bus für diesen Chip zu korrigieren.
Der Haupttaktgeber für den Chip ist der 54,864MHz , der vom integrierten COFDM Schaltkreis erzeugt wird.
Die Daten-Eingabe vom integrierten COFDM Schaltkreis ist im I/Q Format durch die Verbindungs-Widerstände R848, R851, R852,
R853, R854, R855.
Die Funktionen des integrierten Schaltkreises für Vorwärts-Fehlerkorrektur (FEC) sind:

Phasenverschobenes Dekodieren der Daten
•
Entfernung der inneren und äußeren Windungs-Kodierung
•
Viterbi-Dekodierung
•
Entfernung der Entschlüsselung (damit wird ein ungefähr phasengleiches Daten-Signal sichergestellt)
•
Read-Solomon Laufzeit Kodierung (Fehlerschutz) Dekodierung.
•
Ableitung von Information über die Fehlerstatistik des Signals
Informationen wie z.B. die Bitfehlerquote (BER), die der CPU intern und zur Erzeugung der Signal-Qualitäts-Information für den
Benutzer erzeugt, werden vom integrierten Schaltkreis für für Vorwärts-Fehlerkorrektur (FEC) auf dem I2C Bus erhalten.
Das Transportstrom-Signal, das vom integrierten Schaltkreis für Vorwärts-Fehlerkorrektur (FEC) erzeugt wird, enthält die Daten, die
die Chips der gemeinsamen Schnittstelle und der MPEG Chipsatz auf der MPEG-Flachbaugruppe verarbeiten, entmultiplexieren
und dekodieren müssen.
Aus PL807 trägt dieser Bus die folgenden Signale zur MPEG-Flachbaugruppe:

Widerstände werden als Möglichkeit bereitgestellt, um entweder Datenpaket-Start oder Fehler-Signale von der FEC zu verbinden,
aber in dieser Anwendung benötigt die gemeinsame Schnittstelle (mit der der Transportstrom verbunden ist) Datenpaket-Start. Um
das zu ermöglichen, sollte R878 moniert und R877 weggelassen werden.
NVM
Es bestehen Positionen für zwei NVM Chips, diese können 128kb und 256kb Einheiten in der Art von Atmel aufnehmen.
Normalerweise ist im Augenblick nur ein 256kb Chip (IC805) montiert mit seinen dazugehörigen Komponenten C869, C893, R897
und R898. Vom CPU wird eine ‘Schreib-Schutz’-Steuerungs-Leitung geliefert, welche falsche Schreibvorgänge sperrt.
RS232 SERIELLE KOMMUNIKATIONS-SCHNITTSTELLE
Dieser Chip vollführt die Pegelumsetzung der asynchronen seriellen Kommunikations-Verbindung von TTL auf bipolar. Er besteht
aus dem integrierten Schaltkreis AD202 (IC807) und dessen dazugehörigen Reihen-/Speicher-Kondensatoren (C894, C895, C896,
C897). Der Chip wird von der 5V Leitung versorgt, und die lokale Entkopplung besteht aus C898, C899,
Die Verbindung zum MPEG-Prozessor ist TTL Pegel mit den RX, TX, CTS, RTS Signalen. Die Verbindung zu externen Aggregaten
erfolgt über eine D Typ Buchse mit 9 Hohlstiften bei Standard-Pegel. Da das CPU UART Peripheriegerät konfiguriert ist, Hardware-
Durchfluss-Regelung zu benutzen, wird CTS von R792 auf der Ausgangsseite hoch gestellt, um den Daten zu ermöglichen, frei zu
fließen, falls kein Quittungsbetrieb läuft.
