Man muss also die MPEG SI Tabellen parsen, die alle Daten über Herkunft, Inhalt, Zeiteinteilung und Format der Funktionen im
Transportstrom tragen. Die meiste Arbeit erfolgt in der Hardware unter der Steuerung der CPU Software-Aufgaben.
Nach dem Herausnehmen der Information für die Identifizierung der Funktionskomponenten Video und Audio, werden die
Komponenten zwischengespeichert, um zum AV-Chip weiterzugehen, um dekodiert zu werden. Die Daten-Komponenten (MHEG,
Teletext, usw.) werden vom Transportstrom entfernt und im DRAM Bereich mit der geeigneten Software, z.B. Bitmap-Erweiterung,
dekodiert.
Die Video- und Audio-Komponenten werden zum AV-Chip auf dem AV Bus geleitet, so wie im AV-Chip-Abschnitt beschrieben. Der
AV-Chip kann auf die AV Video- und Audio-Anforderungs-Signale reagieren, indem er die Daten auf Anforderung weiterleitet, das
sollte normalerweise nicht erforderlich sein.
Der Demux Abschnitt hat auch die Fähigkeit, PES Ströme zu trennen, die durch die parallele Schnittstelle an den IEEE1394
Abschnitt ausgegeben werden können (dieser IEEE1394 Abschnitt wird gegenwärtig weder in der Software noch in der Hardware
unterstützt).
Die Daten für die grafischen Bilder, die als Objekte ins Transportstrom-Paket geschickt und daraus dekodiert werden, werden als
Daten im Stoßbetrieb über den E-BUS zum AV-Chip geleitet.
JTAG TEST-FÄHIGKEIT
Der CPU/Demux Chip hat JTAG Test-Fähigkeit. Er kann konfiguriert werden als Teil eines Testsystems mit ‘einer Schleife’ oder
‘zwei Schleifen’ mit anderen Chips auf der Flachbaugruppe, näheres dazu im ‘JTAG Test’ Abschnitt (Abschnitt 2.6 weiter unten).

Der Chip benutzt den Haupt-System-Taktgeber mit 27MHz von einem Ausgang des integrierten Schaltkreises für den Taktgeber-
Puffer.
Die Video- und Audio-Signale werden vom integrierten Demux Schaltkreis an den AV-Chip auf dem AV-Bus geschickt. Er besteht

Mit dem E-BUS steuert der CPU den AV-Chip und leitet grafische Bild-Bitmaps weiter, die angezeigt werden sollen.
Die Daten bestehen aus gemischten Audio- und Video-Abtastungen, die durch die ‘gültig’ Signale identifiziert werden. Das System
sollte so funktionieren, dass ein gleichmäßiger, aber nicht konstanter Audio- und Video-Daten-Strom vom Demux an den AV-Chip
geleitet wird. Falls die Daten nicht schnell genug geschickt werden, was dadurch signalisiert wird, dass der Inhalt des AV-Chip-
Puffers unter einen bestimmten Pegel fällt, können die ‘Anforderungs’-Leitungen diese Information an den CPU zurückgeben, um
mehr Daten dieses Typs anzufordern, damit der AV-Chip nicht steckenbleibt.
Der Chip kann jederzeit ein bewegliches Video-Bild und eine Audio-Funktion (Mono, Stereo oder doppeltes Mono) aus der Paket-
Information dekodieren, die vom integrierten Demux Schaltkreis auf dem AV Bus gesandt wurde. Die Pakete werden in genau
bezeichneten Pufferbereichen im Speicher dekodiert, und die Dekodierungs-Anzeige-Geschwindigkeit wird durch die
Zeiteinteilungssignale gesteuert, die im Signal (SCR, PCR, DTS, PTS) enthalten sind. Die Video-Bild-Information sollte mit einer
konstanten Geschwindigkeit von 25 Rahmen/Sekunde für PAL zur Wiedergabe an den Video-Encoder zur Verfügung stehen.
Der AV-Chip trägt auch die Audio-Video-Synchronisierung und benutzt die Zeiteinteilungsinformation im Transportstrom und in den
Paket-Anfangskennsätzen. Das sichert jederzeit eine gute Lippen-Synchronisierung.
Der AV Speicherbereich (32Mb SDRAM) wird benutzt, um das volle Video-Bild ‘aufzubauen’, das aus der Information besteht, das
aus den Video-Paket-Daten dekodiert wurde, und aus Grafiken, die vom CPU erzeugt wurden, z.B. Menüs, MHEG Grafik usw. Die
Grafik kann als alleinstehende Vollbildschirm-Grafik präsentiert werden oder als Bild-Overlay in verschiedenen Transparenzstufen.
