Safe Face Protection have been tested in compliance with EN 166/EN 1731 in one
or several categories in compliance with the European Directive 89/686/EEC and
with ANSI Z89.1 and CAN/CSA Z94.3-02 Class 6. The level of protection provided
is indicated by a marking on the visor and carrier.
Warning
Material that comes into contact with the skin may cause allergic reactions to some
users. The mesh visor does not provide protection against splashes of molten
metal, hot particles or electric arcing. Neither does the visor provide adequate
protection against particles thrown at high speed, e.g. when working with clearing
saws or cut-off machines. We recommend the use of additional eye protection
(safety glasses) complying with EN166 or other local directive. In the event of a
combination of products with different markings, the lowest safety class marking
applies.
When subject to high speed particles, impacts may be transmitted when wearing a
visor over standard ophthalmic spectacles, creating a hazard to the wearer.
If the impact marking F or B is not followed immediately by the letter T, the visor
should only be used against high speed particles in room temperature.
Visors with symbol 9 (molten metal droplets) must be fitted to a carrier marked F or
B together with symbol 9.
Visors with symbol 8 (short circuit electric arc) must be fitted with a filter of scale no:
2-1,2 or 3-1,2 and have a thickness of 1,4mm.
Maintenance
The visor must be washed and cleaned after every use. Care must be taken to
ensure that the visor is not scratched. It is best to use a mild solution of soap and
water. Wipe with a soft cloth. Avoid hard cloths since they may scratch the visor.
Regular maintenance and cleaning of the visor guarantees a high level of wearing
comfort. After cleaning, store the visor in a dry and clean place not exposed to
direct sunlight.
Durability
It is difficult to predict the life of a visor. When used outdoors, it is recomended
that the visor should be replaced at least every two years. The visor may need
to be replaced more often in difficult operating conditions. A visor that has been
damaged, scratched or subjected to impact should be replaced immediately.
