General Operation
When to Flush the System
WARNING
FIRE AND EXPLOSION HAZARD
To reduce the risk of static sparking and
splashing, relieve the pressure, remove
the spray tip from the gun, then hold a
metal part of the gun to the side of a grounded
metal container while flushing.
Flush the system before its first use to remove the
light oil which was left in the fluid lines after factory
testing.
Flush the mixer manifold as frequently during the
day as necessary to avoid exceeding the work life
limit of the material being pumped.
Flush frequently enough during regular operation to
prevent clogged passages due to material setup in
any part of the system.
Flush the entire system when the system is shut
down for a long period of time.
Fluid Heaters
WARNING
COMPONENT RUPTURE HAZARD
Heat causes fluid to expand. If the
heated fluid is trapped with nowhere to
expand, it can cause component rupture.
Be sure
to keep the heated fluid circulating (open
the recirculation valves).
Do not
install a fluid
shutoff device between the heater and the gun.
WARNING
HOT SURFACE HAZARD
Do not touch the heaters while they are
operating. Allow the heaters to cool for
at least 10 minutes before flushing or
servicing them.
Refer to the heater instruction manual 309524 for
heater operating and service instructions.
Before servicing the heaters, disconnect the electric
power to the heaters and circulate the fluid for at least
10 minutes to cool the heated fluid and the heaters.
Then relieve the pressure.
