Power Supply Turbine Alternator Service
NOTE: Replace turbine bearings after 2000 hours of
operation. Part No. 223688 Turbine Alternator Repair
Kit is available.
1. Follow the Pressure Relief Procedure on page 21.
2. Turn off the air to the control.
3. Open the access door (125). See Fig. 106.
4. See the parts drawing on page 103 for the location
of the power supply.
5. Disconnect the electrical connector (118b) from the
wire harness.
6. Remove the two screws (103) and remove the
power supply (118) from the control.
7. Remove the six screws (118f) and carefully sepa-
rate the power supply housings (a., b.). See Fig.
115.
8. Disconnect the 3-wire connector (c.) from the
circuit board (118c).
9. Carefully pull the alternator (118g) out of the
housing (a.).
10. Use an ohmmeter to test the turbine alternator coil.
Measure the resistance between the two outer
terminals of the 3-wire connector (c.). The resist-
ance should be 3 to 5 ohms. If the reading varies
from this value, replace the alternator.
11. Measure the resistance between each outer
terminal of the 3-wire connector and the turbine
alternator housing. The resistance should be
infinite. If the resistance is not infinite, replace the
alternator.
12. Inspect the gasket (118a) and replace if damaged
or worn.
13. Push the alternator (118g) into the housing (a.).
14. Connect the 3-wire connector (c.) to the circuit
board (118c).
15. Assemble the power supply housings (a., b.) and
secure them with the screws (118f).
16. Secure the power supply (118) to the control with
the screws (103).
17. Connect the electrical connector (118b) to the wire
harness.
18. Close the access door (125). See Fig. 106.

Set the air regulator to 25–30 psi
(0.17–0.2 MPa, 1.7–2.1 bar).
