Care of the System
Clean the Static Mixer
Visually inspect the static mixer (G) weekly . Replace
the static mixer if clogged or damaged.
1. Follow the Pressure Relief Procedure on page 21.
2. Remove the hose (35) from the static mixer (G).
3. Unscrew the static mixer (G) from the mix manifold
(17).
4. Push the mixer element out of the static mixer by
inserting a wooden dowel at the adapter (H) end.
Clean all parts with a compatible solvent, and
reassemble.
5. Install the static mixer (G). The arrow on the static
mixer must point down. Apply tape and sealant to
the threads of the static mixer.

Care of the Premier Pump Throat Packing
Nut/Wet Cup
The throat packing nut/wet cup (J) should be inspected
and filled on a weekly basis, or more frequently if
found to be dry. See Fig. 98.
1. Follow the Pressure Relief Procedure on page 21.
2. Turn off the main air valve.
3. Remove the screws (469) and the two guards
(424, 446) from the sides of the proportioner. See
Fig. 99.
4. The wet cups should be 1/3 full of Graco Throat
Seal Liquid (TSL) or compatible solvent.
5. The packing nuts are torqued at the factory and
are ready for operation. Check the tightness of the
packing nut weekly. If it becomes loose and there
is leaking from the throat packings:
a. Follow the Pressure Relief Procedure on
page 21, before adjusting the packing nut.
b. Tighten the packing nut to the torque for your
lower model, using the wrench supplied. See
the table below. Do not over-tighten the pack-
ing nut. Too tight an adjustment causes the
packings to bind or wear prematurely and leak.
