Assembly and maintenance instructions - 400 / 400.5
detergents. The resistance of the valve material must be considered when selecting
detergents and disinfectants and coordinated with the manufacturer‘s factory.
The valve is to be lifted for CIP or SIP cleaning using the lifting device nuts (3) (fig.
1). It is important that the valve is slightly opened during sterilization so that the
steam can escape through the O-ring. The O-ring seat cannot be sterilized with the
valve closed. The component is to be classified as capable of being in-line steam
sterilized.
For internal cleaning, the fixing clip (4) on the body (1) top section (bonnet) (2)
connection point can be unscrewed (fig. a) after depressurizing the installation and
lifting the valve (fig. c).
The fixing clip must be thoroughly cleaned and disinfected if necessary. Special
attention must be paid to the connecting points and screw connection. The function
unit of the safety or overflow/pressure control valve (fig. b) can be lifted from the
body. The O-ring (5) must be removed from the guide plate. The unit made of the
valve plate-bellows-guide plate can then be cleaned with suitable and clean utensils
and disinfected and sterilized if necessary. Special attention must be given to the
spaces between the bellows and the gap under the lifting device nut. This must
be thoroughly cleaned with a brush for example and disinfected if necessary. The
inner and outer surfaces of the body and the remaining valve must be cleaned and
disinfected if necessary. All components must be dried before assembly. When
choosing cleaning utensils make sure that they do not negatively influence the
surface property, that the bellows or sealing surfaces are not damaged and that no
residues are left on the surfaces (e.g. use brushes made of plastic with plastic brist
-
les, only clean, lint-free cloths). Clean the cleaning utensils every day and disinfect if
necessary. They must be checked before use.
Assembly takes place by reattaching the O-ring (5), placing the bonnet (2) centrally
on the body with the function unit and connecting with the fixing clip (4). The lifting
device is closed by turning the lifting device nut (3) in a clockwise direction.
7
Dismantling the fitting
In addition to the general valid assembly instructions, attention must be paid that
the installation must generally be depressurized before dismantling the valve.

Repairs
Repair work on safety valves is only to be carried out by Goetze KG Armaturen or by
