Part No. 122985
February 2012
The platform control box contains one printed
circuit board. The ALC-500 circuit board inside the
platform control box controls all proportional
machine functions from the platform. The joystick
controllers at the platform controls utilize Hall
Effect technology and require no adjustment. The
operating parameters of the joysticks are stored in
memory at the ECM circuit board at the platform
controls. If a joystick error occurs or if a joystick is
replaced, it will need to be calibrated before that
particular machine function will operate. See 1-2,
How to Calibrate a Joystick.
Each joystick controller should operate smoothly
and provide proportional speed control over its
entire range of motion.

Note: When the ALC-500 circuit board is replaced,
the joystick controllers will need to be calibrated.
See 1-2,
How to Calibrate a Joystick.
How to Remove the ALC-500
Circuit Board
1 Push in the Emergency Stop button to the off
position at both the ground and platform
controls.
2 Remove the platform control box lid retaining
fasteners. Open the control box lid.
3 Locate the ALC-500 circuit board mounted to
the inside of the platform control box.
Electrocution/burn hazard. Contact
with electrically charged circuits
could result in death or serious
injury. Remove all rings, watches
and other jewelry.
4 Attach a grounded wrist strap to the ground
screw inside the platform control box.
Component damage hazard.
Electrostatic discharge (ESD) can
damage printed circuit board
components. Maintain firm contact
with a metal part of the machine
that is grounded at all times when
handling printed circuit boards OR
use a grounded wrist strap.
5 Carefully disconnect the wire connectors from
the circuit board.
6 Remove the ALC-500 circuit board mounting
fasteners.
7 Carefully remove the ALC-500 circuit board from
the platform control box.
