First, select the “Log – Messages” tab and in the “Settings” pull-down, select Raw Data (RINEX), then
click on “Apply”. SXBlue Config will activate the required binary messages in the list, along with the
GGA sentence every 5 seconds. The GGA sentence is used to compute an average position for the header
of the RINEX files that will be created if “Automatically convert to RINEX…” is checked; two files will
be created: a .obs for the observations and a .nav for the “navigation” files. For the automatic conversion
to work, the RINEX utility available in the Download section of the www.sxbluegps.com web page must
be installed in its default directory.
If Geneq EZSurv will be used for post-processing, the “Add Receiver Config Data” is mandatory,
otherwise it is optional but can useful for further reference.
When recording raw data as base station, filenames can be created automatically on a regular period.
Select either “No Auto Filenames” for one file recording or select another option from the pull-down.
Click on “Browse to give a filename and a path to the logging.
Do not checked “Add Timestamp” as it is available only for advanced and specific usage. To begin the
recording, click on “Start”.

Converting to RINEX Format
As mentioned above, SXBlue Config offers an automatic conversion of the RAW data into a RINEX
(Receiver INdependent EXchange) format. If more control is required on the content of the RINEX
header file, the stand-alone RINEX tools can be used.
First, load the RINEX utility and click on “File”, then “New Profile” and finally “Load Binary File” to
select a raw data file.
