Serial Port Emulation
Unless specified differently at time of purchase, the Bluetooth port is fixed at 115200 baud for iSXBlue II
GNSS model and at 230400 baud for SXBlue II GNSS model. When setting up COM port parameters in
software for Bluetooth communication, any baud rate can be specified, but in order to avoid
communication overflow, care must be taken in properly selecting the number of sentences output on a
port at a particular baud rate. The Serial and USB ports can be configured from 2,400 to 230,400 baud but
most UART’s (serial ports) on a PC will allow a maximum of 57,600 baud.

The iSXBlue/SXBlue II GNSS receivers output six (6) standard NMEA messages by default: GGA, GSA,
GST, GSV, VTG and ZDA. All ports are fully independent from one another and can be set to input or
output different messages at different rates (NMEA, Binary, Differential correction). Also, only the
GPGSV sentence, containing GPS satellite information is activated by default. The GLGSV sentence
containing GLONASS satellite information (along with other GLONASS specific NMEA sentences) can
be activated but one must verify that the data collection software used will accept these newer GNSS
sentences in other to avoid malfunctions. Refer to Chapter 4 for more details on GLONASS messages.

Because of the unique technology used on-board the iSXBlue/SXBlue II GNSS, the maximum DGPS age
can be set to 3600 seconds. Once the iSXBlue/SXBlue II GNSS receiver loses its differential correction
