11 Decommissioning, dismantling and
disposal
This chapter contains information about decommissioning the valve. It also describes
the removal and disposal processes. It is addressed to all persons who carry out actions
related to the valve.

11.1 Decommissioning
The following principles apply for decommissioning:

Switch off the compressed air.
●
Switch off the component with the main switch.
●
Padlock the main switch (if fitted) in the off position to prevent it from being switch-
ed back on. The key to the padlock must be deposited with the person responsible
until the machine is restarted.

11.2 Dismantling
Prerequisites
●
Ensure that no active processes are running in the relevant area during disman-
tling.

Empty all pipe elements that lead to the valve.
2.
Shut off the control air supply.
3.
Disconnect the power supply.
4.
Take the valve out of the pipe section, with all housings and housing connections if
possible.

The valve has been dismantled.
11.3 Disposal
Dispose of the valve in an environmentally friendly manner. Observe the statutory waste
disposal regulations applicable at the place of installation.
The valve is made of the following materials:

Metals
●
Synthetic materials
●
Electronic parts
●
Lubricants containing oil and grease
Separate the different materials and dispose of them correctly sorted. Also observe the
instructions regarding disposal in the instruction manual for the individual components.
