6 Commissioning
This chapter contains information for the initial and any subsequent commissioning of
the valve. It also describes the necessary checks and tests.
It is addressed to all persons who carry out actions related to the valve.

6.1 Preparing commissioning
For initial commissioning, the following principles apply:

Take protective measures against dangerous contact voltages in accordance with
pertinent regulations.
●
The valve must be completely assembled and correctly adjusted. All screw connec-
tions must be securely tightened. All electrical cables must be installed correctly.
●
Reliably secure machine parts which have already been connected against inadver-
tently being switched on.
●
Relubricate all lubricating points.
●
Make sure lubricants are used properly.
●
After conversion of the valve, residual risks must be reassessed.
Notes on commissioning
Before starting commissioning observe the following:
●
Make sure that there are no foreign materials in the system.
●
Actuate the valve once by applying compressed air.
●
Clean the pipe system prior to the first product run.
●
During commissioning, regularly check all sealing points for leaks. Replace defective
seals.
