TABLE NOTES:
There are four settings groups in LPS-D. However, there is only one group of General Settings categories,
CONFIGURE, COMMPORTS, OSC_GRAPHY, BRKR_DUTY, and INPUTS, which are represented by Analog
Output Points 218 to 261. The other points report the settings from the group selected by the setpoint at Point
0. Note that this only a DNP setpoint, not part of device settings, and is not stored in non-volatile memory. This
setpoint points to the active settings group on device boot-up or a warm or cold restart. This can be set to point
to any other group desired. The setpoint value ranges from 0 to 3, selecting Settings groups 1 to 4 respectively.
The port settings are not reported as a single Multi-Field number as with other LPS-D protocols but are
reported as separate setpoints for each of the port parameters. Each port’s baud rate, stop bits and parity are
assigned to separate points.
The upper and lower 16-bit portions of all 32-bit values reported by LPS-D are assigned to two separate points.
To read a 32-bit value, it is necessary to read both the upper and lower 16-bit portions and concatenate these
two values to form a 32-bit value and interpret the result according to the format associated with the value.
These setpoints are Multi-field value in other communication protocols of LPS-D with each bit corresponding to
an option/field. However, in DNP, each of the bits is assigned to a separate point. Note that the interpretation of
the bit remains same as in other protocols. If a bit has a value of ‘0’ then the corresponding option is OFF and
if that bit has a value of ‘1’, the corresponding option is ON.
Note that there is an overlap of Point Numbers here. The setpoints from 307 are different in LPS-D and ALPS.
The remaining setpoints are same. The ALPS has a total of 334 setpoints.
