removed and with new brake linings the fluid level should
be at MAX mark. If the brake hydraulic drive is in sound condition, a drop of
the fluid level is associated with brake lining wear. The fluid level drop up to
MIN mark is indicative in an indirect way of maximum wear of the linings. In
this case the linings should be renewed. But do not add the brake fluid into the
tank because the fluid level in the tank will top up to normal after the installa
tion of the new linings.
Brake fluid level low warning lamp comes on when the level in the tank
drops below MIN mark. If the brake linings are new or partially worn, this is
indicative of the loss of the system tightness and the fluid leakage. Top up the
brake fluid in this case when the system tightness is restored only.
When checking the fluid level in the tank, it is necessary to check the brake
fluid low level sensor as well. For this purpose depress the center potion of

when the ignition is turned on. The warning lamp should illuminate on
the instrument cluster therewith.
9.5. CHECKING BRAKE FLUID LEVEL
IN CLUTCH MASTER CYLINDER TANK
The level of the brake fluid in the clutch master cylinder tank should be 15
– 20 mm below upper edge of the tank (Fig. 9.5).

9.6. CHECKING STORAGE BATTERY ELECTROLYTE LEVEL
Storage battery electrolyte level should be between MIN and MAX marks
(Fig.9.6) on the semitranslucent battery housing and in case of their absence
– to the lower edge of the filler hole.
If the electrolyte level is below the standard it is necessary to remove cov
